Motor racing

Started racing in the Kent County Formula Ford 1600 Championship in 1998. Achieved best results of any rookie drive in the series including a 3rd place at Croix-en-Ternoisin France and a second place in a L&HCC FF1600 race at Lydden Hill. I was the early championship lead in the 1999 Kent County Series, with two 2nd places, a 4th and a 3rd in the opening four rounds. After missing nearly half of the season, I took a win in a Single-Seater Trophy race at Lydden Hill before competing in the FF1600 Winter Championship. I won the Championship title by a 12 point margin with two 2nd place finishes and a win. In 2000 I am trying to raise the sponsorship to take advantage of one of the many offers I have received. I could race in Junior Formula Ford Zetec, the Slick 50 Zetec Championship, Formula First, Formula Renault or the higher prestigious Euro Formula Palmer Audi Championship. In June I took part in the Kent County Formula Ford Championship at Brands Hatch and was part of the PowerTour package that date. I claimed 3rd place, after starting 4th (and ahead of the Championship leader). I have now finished on the podium at each racing circuit I have raced at, and also had a podium position in my last four races.

In Formula Palmer Audi: Exposure: ITV, Sky Sports, Eurosport and in US, Speedvision all cover this championship, and it receives substantial coverage in the national press, as well as blanket coverage in motor sport press. The meetings take place at every major track in the UK, as well as in Belgium, Germany and France. I have been competing in saloon cars since 1982, more recently at National level in the UK where success has only been limited by sponsorship funds. Despite this I have achieve a lot for my sponsors and gained a lot of racing experience along the way. My work as a consulting automotive engineer has also given me the opportunity to test a wide variety of machinery in many countries. I now hold an International Competition Licence.

I am well educated, articulate and have the ability to communicate with people of all levels. I am also fit and well presented. I now have the opportunity to compete in the UK's premier Sports Car Championship as well as some of the world's most famous long distance races in Europe, Japan and Australia. All of these events offer excellent exposure for a company or brand. As a business man, I understand that there is more to sponsorship than having a brand name or logo on the side of a racing car. I have a PR agent who works with me to ensure maximum exposure for each individual sponsor.

I have been building and racing Class 5 landyachts for the past ten years and taking part in the National Series for several years. I have been improving my overall place steadily each year to just outside the top ten. Came 2nd in Fed 5 Competition in Pacrim World Landyacht Championships

I design and build my own yacht and recently I have been beating members of the British Team in events using second hand and old style sails. Been to the Pacrim World Landyacht Championships in Nirvada, USA where I came second in the Fed 5 Competition, just one point behind the leader. This competition was with identical yachts (having had to hire one out there and tune it and the sail before racing)

I compete in a national series and I have a 5.5 sq m of sail. Approximately the lower 2/3rds is available for company logo's and the body is also available in company colours and logos. International Landyachting is sometimes covered by the Telegraph and my Yacht was in one picture in the Colour supplement. I have also been in the magazine FHM with a full side view of the Yacht and sail. I was also in the Anglia TV programme 'Wheels' and also on 'About Anglia' several times. I have also been an 'expert' in the Channel 4 Scrapheap Challenge building landyachts in a day from scrap.

Triathlon

This is my third season in the sport of Triathlon and my aims for this year are to qualify for the World Championships in Perth, Australia, to win the Gold Medal at the Irish National Junior Championships and to represent Ireland at the European Championships. My achievements to date include competing for Ireland at the European Youth Triathlon Championships in May 99 and May 98. I was selected to race for Ireland at the European Duathlon Championships in Austria in 1999. I finished third in the All Ireland Schools Championships in 1999 and I am currently a member of the Irish National Squad.

Represented Sussex at table tennis at both junior and senior level over the past 20 years. Regular Sussex 1st team player and part of the Sussex team that won the National County Championships for the first time ever last season. Play in Women's British League Premier division and with her team, recently represented England in the European Club Cup in Romania. Has been the Sussex Ladies Champion on several occasions as well as National Civil Service Champion. Has been the top female player in local leagues for the past 15 years. Also plays in the British League (mixed) for Horsham Table Tennis Club in Division 2 South. Currently ranked no 14 on the England Women's Ranking List. Have won 100% of all matches, winning eight matches representing Sussex and ten matches in the Women's British League. Playing in the Sussex Invitation Event at end of April.

I am regularly featured in articles in local newspapers - especially the West Sussex County Times which is now on the internet (www.horshamonline.co.uk). My photograph appears around six times each year in such articles, with my name mentioned most weeks. Any sponsors name could be mentioned each time my name appears. If a potential sponsor was interested in sponsoring one of the teams or clubs with whom I compete, that club or team could be renamed to reflect or incorporate the sponsor's name, thus ensuring maximum publicity. Most of the events in which I take part are as a member of a team, so sponsoring of the team may be most appropriate. I would obviously display the sponsor's name on clothing or with banners etc as appropriate

This is my second year playing hockey for the Sussex U14 team.

This is my second year with Sussex U14. We came 3rd in the championship. I was nominated by my coach to attend the divisional trials when I was a year younger than the others. This year I will be attending trials for the South-East. I play for Chichester U14 club team and an adult side called The Chipmunks. I have recently been on a hockey tour to Holland.

Hockey: I have played U16 and U18 hockey for the South of England. We won the regional territorials held at the National Stadium in Milton Keynes in both age groups. I have also won the Welsh International Tournament. I attend an England Development Squad based at East Grinstead. I have played U14, U16 hockey for Sussex and am currently in the U18 County Hockey despite being only 15. I have also captained the U15 County Hockey Side at the age of 13. I have played for Chichester Ladies 1st XI since I was 12. Squash: I have played U12, U14 and U16 County Squash. I played number one string in the county team for several years and entered several national tournaments. I am also a member of Chichester Lawn Tennis & Squash Club. Athletics: I have represented the County at throwing the discus. I also attend track meets for Chichester Athletics Club where I throw the Hammer, Javelin, Discus and Shot. I have also received AAA Grades at U17 level. I gained level 3 in Javelin and Discus and level 2 in Hammer.

Started rallying in 1993. Competed in an Astra 2.0 litre in various Nation Championships such as BTRDA & Mintex Championships, setting quickest stage times in both Open & formula 2 categories. Competed in 2 Network Q RAC Rallies in 1995 and 1997. Won various awards such as 1st in class, Best Mixed Crew, Best Vauxhall. Competed in 1999 in the 'Super 106 Cup' in a Group A Peugeot 106 S16. Clocked up some notable results but had to drop Ulster and Belgium rounds due to lack of finances. Best result came in the final round (Bulldog Rally) finishing 5th overall (after losing 2 and a half minutes earlier in the day due to gearbox problems) and set 3 fastest stage times in the Cup. Also competed in the Kent stages 1999 finishing 1st in class and 5th overall in the open category (competing against World rally cars and 4 wheel drive cars). Will be competing in the 'Super 106 Cup' again in 2000 and hopes to start with the blistering pace and form he ended 1999 with!

International 400m runner

Last year was my break through in athletics. I started running at Christmas time and in June I made my debut for Ireland in the European Cup, where I helped break the national records for the 4 x 400m relay. On 13 June, I won the Belfast International on a cold and wet day with a time of 46.73 seconds. I went on to run in the World Student Games where I injured my knee. I missed a few weeks training, but was still selected for the World Championships where I ran the anchor leg. I am based in Stoke and Belfast over the summer. On 28/29 April I took part in the 400m at the British Universities Sports Association meeting, and broke the Championship Record with a time of 45.92 secs, a new Personal Best. The 'Road to Sydney' meetings start at Loughborough on 21 May and the venue for the next 'Road to Sydney' meeting on 3 June has yet to be advised.

I have recently joined Border Harriers and will therefore be competing in the Division 1 National League and Cup events this year. I will almost certainly be competing in the Olympic Games this year for the Irish Team which will obviously gain a lot of media attention. If everything goes to plan, I will run in the low 45 seconds and get onto the European circuit.

Most recent race was the South African Duathlon Championships where I finished 6th overall. In the last two years I have raced at two World Championships (German and the USA. I have won local races and a Bronze Medal at the South African Championships two years ago, won Gauteng Championships last year and North Gauteng Championships the previous year. Internationally I have recently raced in Holland in May in a Powerman event ( big international series competed in 12 countries). It is an ultra duathlon where distances must be at least a 10km run, 60km bike ride and 10km run. Holland's distances were 15km/62km/8km and I got 33rd place and a Powerman World Ranking, but I have slipped outside the top 50 due to lack of racing through funding. Recently competed in the Miniman short Course Duathlon in Centurion, Pretoria and got an 8th place. The next race will be the World Duathlon Championships in France in October.

I get certain TV coverage from Races - I have been on Eurosport when I race there. I get local TV coverage in South Africa. I can wear company names etc on all kit. I post copy on the Net for two sites (www.iafrica.com and www.worldofendurance.com). I also write part time for Runners World. I am an active kayak coach and competitor as well as an aspirant PE teacher

I used to compete in Freestyle competitions. These are competitions based on weirs or specific hydraulic features and points are scored for moves performed during two timed runs and an aggregate score is then calculated. I have performed in three ranking events and the last published ranking that I was included in placed me at 101 nationally. More recently I have competed in the Student National Freestyle competition at Holme Pierre Point, Nottingham in which I came third in my heat, missing the cut for the finals by 1 point. I have been kayaking for over ten years but the last four at college have given me access to Britain's leading kayak surf coach and general guru (!) Ian Coleman. This has lead to my development in the discipline of surfing and I am currently an aspirant Level 4 surf coach. In November 1999 I competed in an open kayak surf competition at Widemouth Bay, Devon and made the quarter finals, again being knocked out by a narrow margin. This year I am seeking to compete in many more surf competitions, chasing the so far elusive number one spot. As this discipline of paddle sport is still in its infancy, there is currently no ranking system. I envisage that I will be a prominent figure in the discipline of kayak surfing within the next five years.

Professional sled dog racing. My team was placed 2nd in the world in the Junior World Championship Sled Dog Race run by the International Federation of Sleddog Sports and Piena (the national Spanish Club)

I have been sled dog racing for the past four years, two have been professionally. My father and I own a kennel of 50 top racing Alaskan Huskies as well as co-owning a business called "Ice Fire" (www.icefire.com). Over the winter months we participate in an average of 7 - 8 races and then for the rest of the 350 days, we feed, train and car for our huskies. In the future I would like to become the best female musher in this sport and would like to take the sport and promote it into the Olympics. To give an over-view of our success, during the 1998 season, we won over five total kennel medals. In the North Star Sled Dog Club (the state wide club for Minnesota) we won the following: Gold in 4 Dog Professional, Bronze in 4 Dog Professional, Gold in 6 Dog Sport, Silver in 6 Dog Sport and Silver in 3 Dog Sport. This season we tallied up over 45 first, second and third place finishes. During December I travelled to Viehlla, Spain in the Pyrenees Mountains to compete in the Junior World Championship Sled Dog Race where my team and I were placed second in the world. I plan (if I get sponsorship) to go to a junior mushing camp in northern Poland and then also go back to Europe more this next winter to race, possibly even Australia.

I have played for Chichester Hockey Club for nine years. I have captained my age group at U12 and U14 levels and am currently Captain of the U16 team. At the age of 13, I started to play in the Chichester Chipmunks (a colt side playing in a Men's League on Saturdays). Two years ago, I was promoted to the Men's 2nd XI. This was a huge jump and I am now a major player in this team, and hope to be playing in the 1st Team within a year. I have represented Sussex at U13, U14, U15 and U16 levels. Indeed, most recently at U16 I was Captain. I have also played for the South (East) of England at U14 and U15 levels. Unfortunately I did not get into the U17 team this year, but hope to next year when I am of the correct age. Following the 1998 divisional tournament, I was invited to an England U16 trial but failed to progress further than the first round of trials. It did however show me a number of things I could improve on and was a valuable 'coaching' experience by John Shaw. I also enjoy coaching and umpiring. At school, I play a major part in organising the Year 7, 8 and 9 teams, and often umpire their games.

I play for Lewes Hockey Club in the National League Div 1, have played County hockey through the age groups and was part of the Championship winning side last season. I also play for South U21's and have been involved with the England U21 squad since I was 17. I am also aiming for selection for the U21 World Cup in Tasmania in 2001 and to break into the England senior set up. Last summer I played for a Premier League side in South Africa. I have ridden in Pony Club competitions for 8 years. In 1996 I qualified for the Ponies UK finals for Riding Club Pony of the Year, after gaining the title "Riding Club Pony of the Year 1996, Surrey, Sussex and Kent Champion". In November 1998 I started to specialise in Dressage. Through the last season my pony and I have gone from strength to strength earning a place in the British Squad. I have competed in many national competitions, including last year, and the beginning of this year's Premier Leagues, with ever improving scores. I ended last year being 13th out of all the British Dressage ponies, and through competitions this year I rose to 8th position. I have also competed in the U21 Elementary Championship where we came 13th. I competed in the Ardingly Area Festival coming 4th in the Elementary Championship and then 2nd in the Medium Championship. In September 1999 we were invited to take part in the Pony Quadrille at the National Championships at Stoneleigh. I have competed in many affiliated dressage competitions throughout the season. I have won and been placed in many Medium and Elementary classes gaining 46 points throughout the season. I have also upgraded by rider group from 8 to 5. We ended last season in mid December at Catherston (Hampshire) where we came 2nd and 3rd, gaining our highest score in a Medium class. This season has started on a good note, as we gained the highest place we have been in the FEI (International) team test. We were also chosen for the FEI test riding practise at Addington (Buckinghamshire) On 28/29 April, I took part in the FEI Pony Preliminary test on two ponies, Virginia and Risinghoe Scarlett Pimpernel (Percy). I came 5th on Virginia, and 8th on Percy on 28 April and on 29 April after an early start, competing on Virginia at 7am and came 7th , with Percy coming 8th. Following these results, Emma and Virginia gain 9th place in the Pony Rider Rankings. Since competed at Ardingly on 20 May in another Premier League where we came 2nd in a Medium test and then 5th in the Pony FEI team test. From these results, we have also upgraded our Pony Rider Ranking to 8th. Recently shortlisted for final selection for the European Pony Championships, the final selection will be made on 2 July.

Amateur Boxing with aspirations of being a world class Professional Boxer

My career as an Amateur has taken me to winning major trophies in the UK in a short period of time. I have boxed in many major boxing tournaments and shows around the country. I have a large selection of trophies won in boxing tournaments around the country, which I keep on display. I have won the South-East Divisional Title in 1998 for the Amateur Boxing Association Champion. I went on to the Finals of London. Since the London Finals, I am ranked within the Top Ten Boxers in the whole of the UK by the ABS British/Irish Ratings at Cruiser Weight (86kgs). Before 1998, I was not in the ranking and I am ever-improving. The ranking is compiled by Boxing News, published every Friday. 1999 was a year of introduction to the world of professional boxing. I worked with Boxing Coach Arthur Murray, who trained the Champion Colin Macmillan and also sparred with a number of international boxing stars. They included Terry Dunstan, Toks Owoh and Sven Hammer. I was also sparring partner to Herbie Hide in 1998 who was World Heavy Weight champion at the time. Herbie Hide's coach, Jim MacDonald was the ex European featherweight champion who fought and beat Barry McGuigan and also fought against Asuma Nelson. I have recently been selected to represent Ghana in the Olympic Boxing Squad in the Light Heavyweight category.

Adam is a talented multi eventer whose ultimate goal is to become a professional decathlete and represent Great Britain. Adam represented Sussex in 1999 in his first year in Under 13 age group and is expecting to represent the county again in this and subsequent years

Adam is an excellent all rounder. He is currently ranked number 13 nationally at javelin, and also excels at shotputt, hurdles, sprints, long jump, high jump and triple jump. Adam takes part in competitions all over the country both in leagues for his club and also individually. He has an ever increasing collection of bronze, silver and gold medals and a variety of trophies including the original 1948 Olympia trophy presented by his club for being the best track and field athlete in the Under 13 age group of 1999. Adam takes part in pentathlons and travelled to Exeter last year where he received a silver medal amid some very strong competition. Adam has recently won the U13 Minithon title at Crawley and will be aiming for more gold medals at the U13 County Championships which take place in Kingston on 30 July. Adam has just broken two County Records in the shot putt and the high jump. His personal bests to date are: Shot putt 11.16m putting him amongst top in country Javelin 40.91m possibly National No 1 Ranking High Jump 1.42m Discus 23.39m Long Jump 4.47m During August and September, Adam is hoping to improve his javelin Personal Best to 45m Adam will also be taking part in two pentathlons in September, one in Crawley and the other in Exeter where he is aiming for gold medals

Adam is regularly mentioned in the local newspapers and in the Athletics Weekly magazine. He has achieved recognition from Steve Backley for his efforts in the javelin, and hopes this year to go on to achieve national rankings in many more events.

Roller Hockey is my main sport which I play at international, regional and club level. I have concentrated on roller hockey since I was 11 years old and have now reached the stage of playing for England which is why I need assistance in funding for the different championships which I attend

I have been playing since I was 11 years old and have now gained eight years experience in the sport. In this time I have achieved many things with my home team and also ladies teams. The team I play for is a man's team and I join in all the leagues that they play in. This is seen as unusual as all other females in the sport except 2 or 3, play in ladies teams. I find that men's hockey is a lot different to womens hockey as it is a lot faster, more agile and has a higher satisfaction level for me personally when I beat the men. I have recently represented England in the Ladies European Championships with nine others, and also in the last year represented England in the Ladies World Championships. This year it is the World Championships in October which I will be attending once again. I have received many awards for my home team as we have been playing together for many years now and also received a few individual awards for most improved player. I have also attended some training camps in Spain and France, and hope to do so again this year in June.

Sailing - I race a 29er Sailing Skiff at events around the country.

I have raced dinghies for about six years. I sailed a Cadet for five years whee I raced on the circuit around the country. My best results last year include: 1st Stewartby Cadet Open Meeting, 1st Royal Corinthian Otter Week, 10th National ranking events out of 80 (this was used to select the 1999 European sailing team, for which I qualified as reserve), 10th Weymouth Indicator (out of 80), 11th Inland Champioships (out of 80), 15th National Championships 1999 (Winner of Race 4) (out of 80) During the 1999 sailing season I trained with the European Squad as a reserve. This included quality training by top sailors for a week. During my five years in Cadets, I have competed in about fifty organised racing events all over the country. For the last two months, I have been campaigning a 29er dinghy which is a 2 person high performance racing skiff, designed as a training boat for its older sister the 49er (the current Olympic 2 man boat). We have already competed in two events including the RYA/Volvo Youth Championships where we cane a 15th overall and showed good speed with a 4th in Race 4. My crew, who is also an ex-Cadet sailor, is also very experienced at both helming and crewing. After only being in the class for a short while, we feel we have the expertise to succeed in it due to our past record and achievements so far. A sailing CV is available. I have recently competed in the Warsash Open Meeting which I won and came 4th out of 35 in the Eastern Area RYA Regional Championships. Next events are the Nationals at Weymouth in August, an Open Regatta for 29ers and 49ers at Queen Mary Sailing Club in West London in September, the 29er GUL Grand Prix in October and the 29er and 49er Inland National Championships in November.. Looking to compete in the European Championships and then the World Championships in Australia

By sponsoring me in my 29er, I can promote your company all over the country at sailing events. This can be done in various ways: The company name/logo can be displayed on the sails, hull, car etc, Clothing can easily be embroidered with your name/logo on. This can be worn by the crew of the boat or distributed to others. The boat can be named after your company, something which would be seen in their result sheets, which would possibly go to press and even get on to the internet or TV. For example at the recent Volvo Youth Championships, the winning boat was sponsored. The RYA had organised TV crews to be there all weekend which was a great way to promote a company. Promotional material could be distributed at events, ie stickets (every sailor is keen to have another sticker on their boat!!) Because the sport travels around th country so much, it would be possible tp spread the name of your company nationwide. The sport is covered extensively in the press, expecially Yachts and Yachting. The 29er Class is often making appearances due to its RYA Youth Boat Status. The 29er class is growing rapidly all over the world. There are now 400 boats worldwide after only two years in manufacture. A World Championship will be held each year as well as Europeans, and Euro Cup. These are all events I feel I can qualify for and attend. This would take your sponsorship of me worldwide too. Sponsorship of a youth campaign would gain you respect from many people and give you a good image to prospective customers. I would attend as many events as possible (now made easier as I can drive), and would report back to you on my results etc.

I have been riding since 3 years of age and converted to Side Saddle riding and competition in 1995 with a horse I have on free loan, Birkham Balou, commonly called Snappy

I have built up a good reputation in the Side Saddle community and I am well respected in top level competition. I enter as many competitions as funds will allow and have risen in the Side Saddle national rankings to one of the top five riders in the country. If I am unable to compete at this level then my standing will drop. I am already a National Champion at two events (Working Hunter Side Saddle and Open Equitation Side Saddle) at the National Side Saddle Championships held at Great Malvern in 1999. My objective for the future is to become Side Saddle Rider of the Year. I have the knowledge, the ability, the determination and one of the best Side Sadle horses in the country to do it. At the Otley Agricultural Show on 21 May which produces quite a field of competitors in the Langston and Caldene Open Equitation Class, came first in the Side Saddle Working Hunter.Have previously won the Concourse d'Elegance for three consecutive years - 1996/97/98 and came 2nd in 1999. Also came 1st in the Wetherby Show in the Working Hunter Event and 3rd in the Equitation event. Competed in the Great Yorkshire Show at Harrogate and finished 8th in the Ladies Hunter Event and 4th in the Novice Working Hunter (Astride). I have also given a display of Side Saddle Dressage to Music and Side Saddle Jumping at the Arthington Agricultural Show on 23 July. The Side Saddle Association National Championships were held in Malvern from 4 - 6 August where I attained a first place in the Equitation/Jumping Class bringing my overall standing to 7th place. Also entered the Langston & Caldene Working Hunter Class and was placed second. Also entered the Top Hat Stakes Jumping Class (under BSJA Rules) where we had a clear round, but were only placed 4th after Snappy lost a stud off one of his shoes. At the Harewood Show on 13 August I gained 1st place in the Side Saddle Working Hunter Class and 2nd place in the Equitation Class. The season is over for the Year 2000 and I am hoping that with sponsorship, I can obtain more tuition and a new habit which will help me for the coming year.

I can give advertising space on the side of the Horsebox which travels all over the North of England and as far south as Windsor, Hickstead and Great Malvern. Apart from the Grand Prix events at Cardiff and Bournemouth in June, Poole, Margate and Weymouth in July and Boscombe, Bournemouth in August, we train in Brighton and Bournemouth at least three times a week. Powerlifting

I have been a British Team member for 6 years. I came fourth in the World Championships and second in this year's Europeans, breaking a British and European Bench Press Record and now I am ready to go for a World title. Last year I was on the Guinness World Records on TV with Ian Wright for breaking a Team World Record. I also have a record for lifting cars. I used to be a boxer and then a runner, but I was then given the chance to lift in a Drug Free Contest in London and made the British Team. The British Power Lifting Association is the only one which is totally drug free and we are tested all the time by the WDFPF. I do not train as hard as I could because I cannot always reach the big competitions due to lack of funds. I also coach lifters and have raised thousands of pounds for Cancer Research and do car lifts at fetes etc

By sponsoring a drug free power lifter, in return I can wear your logos on my England tracksuit, bags, T-shirts and I can display banners. You could have stalls at major events. With backing, I know I will become a World Champion soon as older lifters suffer many injuries by not lifting in the assisted class, whereas because I have always lifted in the raw power section, I do not suffer the same injuries and have more chances at going for records. I train all year round six days a week so I can attempt a record at short notice

I am a 14 year old badminton singles and doubles player. I regularly play for England and recently became British Under 15 Doubles Champion. I am officially ranked number 2 in my age group in England and aim to become number one within one year. For my County (Berkshire) I am ranked number one at under 15 and also play at under 17 level at number 2

Badminton in England at junior level is organised by ESBA (English Schools Badminton Association) soon to merge with the All England Badminton Association. Badminton tournaments are held throughout the country, the highest ranking of which are ESBA tournaments. Last year I entered eight and won six. Every other year things get tough as tournament age groups are in two year bandings eg Under 15/17/19/ This year I was playing as a younger Under 15 yet still managed to win two tournaments and the Under 15 British Doubles Championships. I also helped England win the 2000 Under 15s Home Countries competition this year held in Ayr. This season I have played for England in Scotland, Holland, France and Switzerland. I have now been invited to play for the Berkshire Senior Badminton Team. I train most days of the week and I am coached by England coach, Bob Reed, based in Reading, Berkshire.

Badminton is the most popular racket sport in Britain. The absence of any well known British stars limits its TV coverage but with increasing funding and the bringing on of talent from a younger age (like me) it is expected that the sport will grow in media popularity in the future. Sponsoring sport and in particular successful sports people helps not only promote a positive image for an organisation but actually says something about the products and services likely to be delivered. Training, entering tournaments, playing for England and County costs a great deal of money. For example my trip to Ayr last month with England and the Inter Counties Tournament for Berkshire also last month cost my dad over £300. Equipment and Kit is also expensive. For a sponsor able to help with these costs, there are the obvious advantages of publicity both locally and nationally and a chance to display their logo.

Street Luging. This is a downhill gravity powered sport in which you race other competitors or against the clock. You ride down a closed off road on a street luge, usually made of metal. You ride feet first lying on your back, a mere couple of inches from the ground at speeds of up to sixty miles an hour. The street luge is steered by leaning and braking is a matter of slamming your feet down on the road. The sport is currently growing in the UK

I have so far competed in a few events, but have managed to construct my own street luge which has resulted in a big increase in my personal performance. I am only 1.4 secs off the course record of 56.7 secs, so I am now hoping to improve my current position of 10th in the UK Championship, as my early outings were on inferior equipment with less experience. By next year I shall be competing at international competitions, the Hot Heels event in Austria and possibly the Red Bull Downhill Extreme in South Africa. My aim is to compete at the Olympic Games in America.

Apart from the Grand Prix events at Cardiff and Bournemouth in June, Poole, Margate and Weymouth in July and Boscombe, Bournemouth in August, we train in Brighton and Bournemouth at least three times a week. I have practised judo for 14 years. I have competed at club, area, national and international level. I have achieved British Junior Champion for 5 years which helped me gain selection for the Great Britain Under 18 squad. It is here that I have competed and achieved medals in many international competitons held in Holland, France, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland. All of which helped me gain selection for the Youth Olympics held in Bath where I gained a bronze medal that gave me even more experience and stood me in good stead to be selected for the Great Britain under 21 Squad. During my time there, I also achieved many medals in countries such as Portugal, France, Czech Republic and a very respectable 5th place in Germany. All of these results and dedication to training gained selection for the Under 21 World Championshipd hel in Columbia, where after a very respectable performance, I achieved a ninth place. Since then I have been promoted into the Great British Senior Squad.

My main attribute is dedication. As I am dedicated to sport, therefore I can offer success within my sport and many promotional offers. Additionally I have just set up an Academy for Judo where I visit schools to promote Judo, by offering 10 week beginner courses. I am the only British male representive of Taekwondo in the Olympic team to go to the Sydney 2000 Olympics. I qualified for the British Olympic Taekwondo team by defeating the national reigning Heavyweight Champion 'Richard Allen' and the number two seeded player 'Tony Morgan'. This competition took place in Darlington and was titled 'The National Olympic selections'. I then Travelled to Proec in Croatia, where the world Olympic qualifiers were taking place. And defeated the Moroccan and Belarusian athletes. In addition the Austrian Open Championship located in Vienna, where I won Gold. This was an important checkpoint for the 96 Taekwondo athletes that have qualified for the Sydney Olympic Games. As a full time athlete, I tour most of Europe and North America in winter, competing on the Europe Cup and Nor-Am Cup tours.
